Meet Jonathan Rasch, Edge Biomedical Technician

Good morning! Today we have our #FunFridayIntro featuring Jonathan Rasch, Edge Biomedical’s Atlanta based “BMET” Biomedical Technician. Jonathan was a military brat that lived all over the United States. After he finished high school, he majored in Vocal Performance at the University of South Florida. Jonathan wanted to serve his country and decided to join the Georgia National Guard as a Combat Medic in 2010 and in 2013, became a Biomedical Equipment Specialist. Jonathan deployed to the Sinai Peninsula (Multinational Force and Observers) and after that, Jonathan was promoted to Sergeant and worked at St. Thomas Health in Nashville, TN in the ER, Endoscopy, and PT departments. Fun Fact: Jonathan loves singing and making music.

Jonathan ensures that Edge Biomedical’s customers are compliant based on the Federal regulatory bodies that require an inspection plan for all medical devices. NFPA99 states that all medical equipment that could come in contact with a patient is required to be electrical safety tested at least one time per year, some critical equipment should be tested more often. OSHA, EPA and the FDA have similar regulations requiring annual safety testing.

Edge invests heavily in our Technicians by having them factory trained on Midmark & Ritter M9 and M11 autoclaves, Tuttnauer sterilizers, Itamar, and SciCan Dental equipment. Jonathan has years of experience repairing and maintaining most standard and non-standard medical equipment including Autoclaves & Sterilizers, Physical Therapy Equipment (treadmills and gym equipment), Veterinary Practice Equipment, Endoscopy, NICU (baby warmers, phototherapy) and is certified to provide annual inspections and repair of GE Logiq E9, Philips IU22/IE33 Ultrasounds.

Jonathan loves to troubleshoot and repair medical devices and has a real passion for taking care of his customers and their equipment.

Edge Biomedical’s factory-trained technicians perform all the required annual electrical safety inspections, calibrations, performance testing and repairs to insure performance and extend the life of your equipment.

Edge Biomedical is proud to actively recruit Veterans and appreciate their service.
