Edge Biomed technicians recently returned from B Braun training in Colorado. Adding factory experience is a key initiative for Edge’s roster of highly trained technicians. “Our techs complete several manufacturer trainings every year. Just in 2018, we have completed ultrasound training (GE Medical, Philips, Sonosite and more), Scican sterilizers, the full line of Midmark medical devices, Carefusion ventilators, Steris sterilizers and other follow ups. This type of continuing education is important to our current and future customers,” says Matt Spencer, Edge’s President.
Most biomeds are gifted technicians with a keen mind that is often referred to as “having the knack.” Their brains process problems differently than others, and solution-oriented processes are always a focus. However, there is a wide spectrum of medical equipment out there, and no one biomed can be proficient on every device. This is why Edge’s roster of thirteen biomed technicians, located from San Antonio to Boston, are so valuable to our customers. Each possesses different specialty training and experience that they share with other members of the team. We are no team of general biomeds, but rather a highly experienced team with collective training that dwarfs any of our competitors.
Edge loves to add factory training, and we serve as the preferred field service provider for several manufacturers. Several of our recent certifications were completed as the result of a request from our customers. The B Braun training is a good example of these customer requests, and how willing Edge is to step up, invest in our techs and serve the customer with confidence. One of the many ways that Edge distances itself from the competition.
